We value the PURSUIT OF GOD by being CHRISTCENTERED and SPIRIT-LED—We are hungry to know God, experience his presence, hear his voice and follow hard after him (Psalm 63:1-3) with Jesus Christ, his Son, at the center of all we are and do. It is our desire that Jesus—his person, love, grace, purity and power—would shine through in us and through us (Ephesians 5:2). We further desire to be responsive to the Holy Spirit in life and ministry. We aim to follow his lead (Galatians 5:5; Romans 8:14; I Corinthians 14:1-5).
• We valve the BIBLE—We determine to teach the Word of God in a practical, inspiring and systematic way. We further determine to hear and obey God’s Word to us. Our heart is to be “doers of the Word, not hearers only” (Matthew 7:24-27; James 1:22).
• We value PRAYER—We believe that prayer is as important to the health of our personal relationships with God as it is vital to the health of the church. Prayer is our primary means of communion with God. It is also God’s primary means of accomplishing his purposes in the
world (I Thessalonians 5:16-18; Philippians 4:6).
We value the MERCY OF GOD—We believe that God’s abundant mercy has been extended to us. It is, therefore, our desire to extend mercy and compassion to one another and the poor, hurting, wounded, broken and disenfranchised that God has entrusted to our care and
fellowship (Colossians 3:12-14).
• We value INTEGRITY—We see completely truthful, consistent and open relationships with God, with others and with ourselves (Ephesians 4:15). We encourage believers to enter into relationships of mutual submission, embracing a level of personal accountability that goes beyond what’s accepted in our culture.
• We value AUTHENTICITY—We desire to do nothing for “religious effect” but choose to operate in a natural, low-key, non-hyped manner (Matthew 6:1). We also purpose to use music, terminology and methods that are in touch with the needs of our community (I Corinthians
9:19-23).
• We value GENEROSITY—We are committed to freely give away all that we have freely received from God—our gifts, abilities, financial and material blessings, time and our lives (Matthew 10:8; II Corinthians 8:7).
• We value SERVANTHOOD—We believe in the “priesthood” of all believers, that God has called every Christian to use their gifts in his service (I Peter 2:9). Our desire is to equip and empower every believer to do what God has created him or her to do.
